Meet your Speech-Language Pathologist

Lauren Blake, B.Sc., MPH, M.Sc., SLP-Reg

I am a registered SLP with the Nova Scotia College of Audiologists

and Speech Language Pathologists (NSCASLP), and Speech-Language

and Audiology Canada (SAC). I completed my Masters in Speech

Language Pathology at Dalhousie University here in Nova Scotia,

and my Masters in Public Health at Memorial University of

Newfoundland, in my home province. I am a school-based SLP with a

passion for connecting with families who want to work together to

support their child's communication.

I love providing functional, engaging therapy that your child will enjoy. I believe that when children are playing they are learning – and there’s no better opportunity to target their speech or language goals! I use a play-based, client and family-centered approach that focuses on your child’s unique strengths, interests, and personality. As a team, we can support the growth of your child’s communication so they can express all of their brilliant and bright ideas.

I am passionate about learning and updating my SLP toolbox in order to better serve my clients. I am certified in It Takes Two to Talk®, a Hanen coaching program for parents of children with language delays. I am also an NLA (Natural Language Acquisition) Trained Clinician, which means I am able to support clients who are gestalt language processors (e.g., echolalia, scripting). I have also completed training in play-based therapy, which has equipped me with plenty of fun and functional activities for my sessions with your child!
